A Flight up above the Clouds
The area around my home airfield in the Guadalajara province east of Madrid at first seems desolate and bare. But at certain times of the year it becomes truly beautiful. Of course, spring is spectacular, with endless bright green fields as far as the eye can see. But autumn comes a close second. And even in summer I have learnt to appreciate the wide open spaces and dusty summer farmlands, bordered by the rugged Guadarrama range on the north. On this day, Gail and I went for an afternoon flight and ended up climbing up above the first layer of clouds.
